FAQ
What’s a burger?
A burger (frequently called a hamburger) is a type of sandwich which usually contains a patty between two buns, typically made of ground meat. Many variations of burgers exist, including with patties made of chicken, pork, fish, or vegetables (veggie burgers).
Why are they called burgers?
Burger is short for “Hamburger”, which is the name given to something or someone from Hamurg, Germany.
There are many who claim to have invented this delicious sandwich, but probably was first made in the United States in the late 19th century. The word Hamburger refers to the ground Hamburg Steak that was used for the burger, or less famously, Hamburg, New York, which claims to be the birthplace of the Hamburger.
Why do you like burgers so much?
I love burgers. I could eat them every day (and often do). I think it’s unique in that you can explore so many styles with burgers, and a vast range of flavours can be expressed and a lot of ingredients can be exchanged before the dish loses its burger-ness.
Something is seriously wrong with you.
I know.
